The Open Canoe Association is a voluntary membership based organisation that exists to provide a forum for open canoeists to come together, whatever their interests may be. The OCA also exists to represent the interests of open boaters nationally and is affiliated to the British Canoe Union (BCU), the sports National Governing Body.

The range of things that people do in open canoes is endless, from bimbling around on a sunny afternoon, with friends and a picnic – to white water adventures, Sailing, Canoe Camping  - the list is endless.

Nationally the OCA meets several times a year, we communicate with members regularly through this website and a quarterly journal ‘the open canoeist’.

There is also a network of active paddlers who act as regional representatives who enable local paddlers to come together on and off the water with a local calendar of events. 

On the website there is a full calendar of local, regional and national events.
