Alan Kesselheim and his partner, Marypat, set out on a 14 month trip on the Athabasca river in Alberta, Canada to travel 2000 miles to Baker Lake in the North West Territories, just south of the Arctic circle. They over-winter at a fishing camp in a log cabin on Lake Athabasca. This is an excellent account of a journey most of us only dream of making. The narrative is well written and describes the highs and lows of this extended venture. Makes me want to pack up and go North.
